Tim McGraw Concert

I got the chance to go to the Tim McGraw concert with my mom and friend Megan. I have now been to 5 concerts with my mom and have loved the chance to hang out with her and get to know her better. I have always counted her as one of my friends but because of these concert I have gotten to know her even more and love the time I get to spend with her. It has also been fun to spend time with Megan who also grew up with my mom as one of her moms as well so she knows as much about her as she does about me.
I am like my mom in that I love to watch people and the people that go to the concerts are so funny because after they have been drinking they seem to forget that other can see what they are doing and many of them make the biggest fools of themselves and we just enjoy getting to laugh at the things that they do.

24th parade

On Friday Jake stayed at our spot to save it for sleeping out and while he did this I went with my mom to pick up my nephew Tav and Leighton made marshmellow shooters with papa for the kids to play with at the parade.
Had so much fun sleeping out at the parade. I hope that my kids enjoy it as much as I did when I was growing up. The past two years we have had a wonderful spot for the parade because it is all in the shade. It's just too bad that both of my sisters quit doing it. However I did have my nephew Tav with us.
Xia did end up back at my moms at about 3 am because she was complaining of a sore ear and throat. She kept telling me it was all better but she wouldn't eat and anyone who knows Xia knows that that isn't normal. We gave it until today when she still hadn't eatten Jake took her to the doctors and as I suspected she has strep. She just doesn't let getting sick slow her down.
Xia got her test results from her blood work. Everything is normal which is good she's just going to be a big girl.

So after work yesterday Jake and Leighton went up tp Rockwell to go fishing. Which in and of its self is pretty funny because Leighton is so impatient. However he enjoyed it. This is him at the begining.

Being on land only lasted for a short while then Lei insisted on getting in the water even though it was getting colder outside. He told Jake that "a true fisherman has to get wet". Xia and I returned from shopping at the outlet stores in Park City about an hour later. On the ride to Park City Xia asked "why don't I get to fish?" To which I replied that it isn't all that fun you just have to sit and wait. She was okay with this reponse.

When we returned to pick up the boys Xia and I had to hike down to where the boys were. This was a trial in and of itself because it was a steep drop and Xia just kept on falling on her bottom in the process she tried to take me down with her. When we finally made it down Xia showed why she isn't a fisher. It took all of about 5 minutes before she was in the water splashing around and playing with the mud on the botton of the water.

Towards the end of fishing I got a picture for Lei that I thought was so precious. It just goes to show you that anything can suprise you. I didn't think that at 9:00 pm with all of the medicine out of his system Lei could stand quiet and still for more then a minute but he did.

What a week!

So I took Xia in to the doctors for her kindergarten physical. She is 4 inches taller then most girls her age and wieghs 12 pounds more then she is supposed to. Then the nurse comes in to give her the 3 immunizations that she needs to get and Xia says to her can I see them. Well the nurse shows her the needles and tells her what she is going to do. Xia is fine with it and as the nurse is finishing the last shot Xia says "ARE YOU DONE SO I CAN GO HOME NOW" no tears or anything. Then we find out she needs to have blood work done to see if her thyroid is working right and if her cholesterol is good. That didn't bother her either.
As the day wore on Jake took her with him and Leighton to get a root canal for Leighton and as the nurse is numbing his mouth he is crying and digging his nails into the hygentist hand Xia is just laughing. Now she walks around and reminds him of how he cried and she didn't and she had more shots then him.

Its new to me and I am not sure how long it will last but here it goes.
This summer we have had a lot of first for the kids. Within two weeks time we have been to Idaho and Oregon.
Leighton got to ride a machanical bull while in Idaho,

We had the oppertunity to go to Baker and La Grande Oregon. While in Baker we went to the Miner's Jubalee where the kids got to mine for gold for the first time. This is Xia and I attempting to find gold. It's harder then it looks.

This is Jake and Leighton trying to find gold. We had a massive meltdown when they were done because of the heat and no sleep because Leighton wasn't able to find a lot of gold. However he did find a large garnet that is really pretty.

While at the Jubalee the kids got to play on many bounce houses and ride on a spinning toy that I have never seen before and this is a picture of them on it before Jake started to spin it as fast as he could and they loved it.

This is a picture of Tejia's kids and Leighton and Xia at Indian rock that over looks La Grande Oregon. The kids all got along so well. This next reunion will be so much fun for them because they got a chance to get to know each other before hand.

I love this picture of Leighton it shows his personality so well. He loves to be outdoors and spent the whole time at Indian rock looking for shell casings from used bullets. He was also all over the rock and climbing as much as he could.
